THE LADY AND THE LION by cowboy poet and author Hal Swift is another chapter in the life of Logan West.  Logan is a banjo playing journalist to whom readers were introduced in Hal’s book, Ballad of a Small Town, Adventures of Logan West. The fun continues in Drytown with many of the folks you met in that recently published book.

Trails West is in it’s final edit now and will be available right around Christmas.

Bottom of the Hill to Publish Herb Marlow

September 30th, 2010

Bottom of the Hill Publishing has signed Herb Marlow as the latest author in a line of Western writers. The first book to be published will be Cowboy Riches a story of a rancher who strikes it big winning the lottery.

About the Author Dr. Herb Marlow:

An established authority on childhood issues, author Dr. Herb Marlow has been featured on TV, radio and in print publications nationwide.  Dr. Marlow has published 35 books and is a captivating speaker and storyteller, whose tales engage children and adults alike.

All of the horse and cattle work described in Cowboy Riches is work that Dr. Marlow has done.  In his youth he and wife, Lynn owned and operated a cattle ranch in Oregon; now that they’re semi-retired, they enjoy a small place in East Texas with cattle and horses.

Several years ago as a pastor in Olney, Texas Herb met a retired cowboy.  He asked the old  cowboy what he would have done if he’d won the Texas Lottery.  His answer was:  “I guess I’d just have gone on raising cows and horses until it was all gone.”  From that conversation this splendid idea of Cowboy Riches was born.

Look for Cowboy Riches on bookshelves everywhere October 30th.
