The Pursuit of God

March 15th, 2012

Pursuit of God by A. W. TozerIn the introduction of The Pursuit of God, Samuel M. Zwemer says that this “… is a book for every pastor, missionary and devout Christian.  It deals with the deep things of God and the riches of His grace.  Above all,” says Zwemer, “it has the keynote of sincerity and humility.”

The Pursuit of God has become a true Christian classic.  First published in 1948,  the message is as new and vital and important today as it was then.  If you’ll look inside many of the Church bodies of today, you’ll see exactly the same situation as that painted by Mr. Tozer.

Upon publication, Tozer said, “This book is a modest attempt to aid God’s hungry children so to find Him.  Nothing here is new except in the sense that it is a discovery which my own heart has made of spiritual realities most delightful and wonderful to me.”

Artist Marina Petro Art to Grace the Cover of The Pursuit of God.

Herb marlow’s newest release High Lonesome is now available at amazon, Barns & Noble and all major booksellers.

Once again Dr. Herb Marlow entertains us, this time with characters of the old west. In High Lonesome, we meet Trapper Stark, Clint Morgan, Ralph Giddings, Jerry Miller, Alan Kidd and Larry Hardwell. Each man with his own lonesome life is striving to or eventually successfully living a moral life.

For one man, settling down becomes the comfortable way but for others, what is over the next hill continues to beckon him on and on……

The six exciting stories in High Lonesome include Trapper’s Wife, Buffalo Gap, Forty-Four Caliber Justice, Hawken 50, The Wolfer and Gone at Midnight. Fans of western life of the 1800’s will find this collection hard to put down.

This is Herb Marlow’s latest book for Bottom of the Hill Publishing. When Dr. Marlow isn’t writing or caring for his small Texas ranch, he conducts a limited pastoral counseling practice through face-to-face encounters and a unique Internet-based, on-line counseling service.

Bitter Grass Available for Kindle And Nook

September 9th, 2011

Dave P. Fisher's Bitter GrassBitter Grass, Dave P. Fishers newest release is now available for Kindle and Nook.

It was the tough old widow, Abby Chaney, who found Devon McCloud bushwhacked and left for dead on her Bitter Grass Ranch. The old woman and her daughter were fighting a losing battle against cattle baron Charles Sampson and timber man Egert Taylor. Both men desperately wanted what the two women legally owned. To make matters worse, the Parker clan was cleaning out their cattle. Odds favoring the Chaney’s survival were slim.

It was supposed to be an easy takeover, but the big men never counted on McCloud buckling on his gun and stepping right in the middle of their plans. Sampson and Taylor had no intention of giving up, and Devon McCloud had never in his life backed down. War was about to break out on the Bitter Grass. The Chaney’s odds had greatly improved, but were they good enough to win?
